COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES
OVERSIGHT HEARING ON:
NOTE: The hearing will begin immediately following the Full Committee Markup on H.R. 290 and H.R. 1670. OPENING STATEMENT: The Honorable Doug Lamborn WITNESSES AND TESTIMONY: Panel I Deneen Borelli James Martin Pamela Anderson Drew Sloan BACKGROUND: As Memorial Day approaches, many families are being forced to cancel or change their usual vacation plans due to rising prices at the pump. Restaurants, hotels, outdoor attractions and other small businesses in tourist destinations that rely on revenue from vacationing families will also suffer from the increasingly high price of gasoline. Meanwhile, America is sitting on the world’s largest supply of energy resources that if developed, could create millions of jobs and help pay down our crushing national debt. This hearing is part of the Committee’s ongoing effort to examine the impacts of high energy prices while pushing for more American energy production to lower prices, create jobs and reduce dependence on foreign sources.
