NOTE: The previously noticed Full Committee oversight hearing, "Harnessing American Resources to Create Jobs and Address Rising Gasoline Prices: Impacts on Seniors, Working Families and Memorial Day Vacations," will begin immediately following the markup. COMMITTEE ACTION: The Committee on Natural Resources met in an open markup session on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, and considered the following bills: H.R. 290 (Hunter), To amend title 36, United States Code, to ensure that memorials commemorating the service of the United States Armed Forces may contain religious symbols, and for other purposes. "War Memorial Protection Act" The Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 290 by unanimous consent. Ordered favorably reported to the House of Representatives by unanimous consent. H.R. 1670 (Bordallo), To amend the Sikes Act to improve the application of that Act to State-owned facilities used for the national defense. "Sikes Act Amendments Act Sikes Act Amendments Act of 2011" The Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 1670 by unanimous consent. An amendment offered by Mrs. Bordallo was AGREED TO by unanimous consent. Ordered favorably reported to the House of Representatives, as amended, by unanimous consent. |
