This week, U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Doug Burgum issued a secretarial order that ensures national parks remain open and accessible. House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) released the following statement in response: "As we head into the summer months, millions of Americans and visitors from around the world will be enjoying our beautiful national parks. Secretary Burgum is making sure the National Park Service is carrying out its mission to welcome visitors and provide them with the best possible experience. I know just how much my hometown of Hot Springs depends on access to our local national park, so I'm pleased to see DOI is ensuring these national treasures are open for business." |
