This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed three Republican bills reported out of the House Committee on Natural Resources, the Japanese American World War II History Network Act, introduced by U.S. Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.), the MAPLand Act, introduced by U.S. Rep. Blake Moore (R-Utah.), and the Save the Liberty Theatre Act of 2021, introduced by U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.). House Committee on Natural Resources Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) issued the following statement:

"It is great to see these three Republican bills move through the House this week . Mr. Obernotle's bill will establish a network to promote access to, and educate current and future generations about, the historic sites that played a role in the internment of Japanese Americans and the Japanese American experience during World War II. Mr. Moore's legislation will establish a federal database for outdoor recreation data. Finally, Mr. Johnson's bill gives full ownership of a theatre to the community of Eunice, Louisiana, so the community can move forward with restoration efforts. These three bills are bipartisan wins for our constituents and I encourage their support and quick passage in the Senate," Ranking Member Westerman said.
