Today, the House Committee on Natural Resources held a markup that included four Republican bills, all of which passed with bipartisan support. Committee Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) issued the following statement:
"While we were unable to come to a compromise on certain legislation in today's markup, I'm grateful for the bipartisan support of our Republican-led bills. With them, we are aiding tribal health and social service programs, designating new historic trails, and increasing recreational access on an existing trail. I look forward to seeing these Republican bills pass the House."
Republican bills in the markup included:
H.R.441,offered by U.S. Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), provides for the conveyance of certain property to the Tanana Tribal Council for use in connection with health and social services programs.
H.R. 2512,offered by U.S. Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kan.),designates the Chisholm National Historic Trail and Western National Historic Trail.
H.R. 2551,offered by U.S. Rep. John Curtis (R-Utah), improves recreational access to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
H.R. 4358,offered by U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (R- Fla.),studies whether a portion of the Little Manatee River shall be designated as a component of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
