House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) issued the following statement on President Obama’s appointments to the Financial Management and Oversight Board (Oversight Board) established through the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act (Public Law No. 114-187).

“We applaud the President’s swift action on these appointments so that the Oversight Board, in consultation with the Puerto Rican government, can begin its work.  These individuals possess the necessary competencies and experience to organize and implement the authorities created through PROMESA. This is the first step in establishing a new foundation for institutional transparency, fiscal accountability and economic revitalization for the Island and its people.”
