House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop (UT-01) issued the following statement upon final passage of the Keystone XL pipeline in the U.S. House. The legislation has now been approved with bipartisan support in both the U.S. House and Senate.
“The Hesitator in Chief has lost his last alibi. President Obama must either sign this bipartisan legislation or look the American people in the eye and sink the thousands of construction and manufacturing jobs that would flow from approving the Keystone XL. Chairman Bishop addressed the President directly, stating: “Our country and the world are watching, Mr. President. The question is: will you cater to the environmental extremists that seek to undermine America’s path to energy security or will you greenlight this bipartisan infrastructure project. “Mr. President, let’s set our sights higher than a single political legacy. Let’s move forward on the Keystone pipeline and set our sights on strategic energy policies that will boost our domestic economy and strengthen our national security.” |
