This bill would stop the Obama Administrations costly and damaging rewrite of the 2008 Stream Buffer Zone Rule that would cost 7,000 direct coal jobs and cause economic harm in 22 states. This legislation restores regulatory certainty that’s needed to keep supplying jobs and low cost energy to hardworking Americans.

Holt Amendment 001 – Blocking Increased Energy Production (Failed 15-24. View Roll Call Vote)
This amendment would allow the Secretary of the Interior to unilaterally enact any regulation regardless of the harmful result it would have on the affected communities and energy production in America.

DeFazio Amendment 002 – Blocking Increased Energy Production (Failed by Voice Vote)
This amendment would provide more uncertainty to the coal industry by reverting back to a 30 year old coal mining regulation. The underlying legislation provides clarity and certainty that will create jobs and protect coal mining in America.
