During Tuesday’s State of the Union address, President Obama once again talked about the need to create American jobs. However, we’ve heard that before. Despite the repeated promises, the most recent jobs report painted a much more realistic picture of the President’s efforts. The economy added only 74,000 jobs, far less than the expected 193,000, and saw over 300,000 Americans leave the work force all together.
The House of Representatives has passed numerous bills from the House Natural Resources Committee in the past year that would harness our nation’s energy and natural resources to put millions of Americans back to work. And while the President claims that American energy is “one of the biggest factors in bringing more jobs back,” these bills sit in the Democrat-controlled Senate awaiting action from Senator Reid. ### Printable PDF of this document |
