House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement after the Department of Labor released the September jobs report:

“After a horrendous August, where the economy saw a net total of zero jobs created, September’s numbers weren’t much better. The unemployment rate is continuing to hold steady above 9 percent while President Obama campaigns on another stimulus full of job destroying tax hikes. As frustration continues to mount across the country, Natural Resources Republicans have offered job creating solutions that could bring real economic opportunities to those in need. Water, timber, tourism, energy and recreation are just a few of the economic sectors that the Committee has highlighted through job creating legislation. It’s clear that House Republicans will continue to do our part in passing pro-growth bills; it's now the U.S. Senate's responsibility to follow through.”
