House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement regarding President Obama’s speech to a Joint Session of Congress:
“While I believe there are areas where Congressional Republicans can work with the President to create new jobs, I was disappointed that the President missed this opportunity to address the need for increased American energy production. Earlier today, I offered a list of 10 job-creating ideas through increased production of our oil, natural gas, wind, solar and geothermal resources on federal lands. These ideas have received bipartisan support and could be implemented today. American energy production should be the centerpiece of any jobs agenda and recognized for its potential to create millions of American jobs, generate new federal revenue, strengthen our economy and improve our national security.” ### |
