House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement after the Department of Labor released the December unemployment report:
“It is always encouraging to see more Americans back at work, but with unemployment at 9.4 percent much still needs to be done to help the millions of jobless individuals around the country. The new Republican majority has made job creation a top priority and already proven that we are serious about cutting spending in order to grow our economy. Over the coming months, this Committee will promote policies to responsibly develop America’s energy, water, timber and mineral resources in order to create new jobs here in the U.S., increase our economic competitiveness and become less dependent on foreign countries.” ### |
