Today, Ranking Republican Rob Bishop (R-Utah) released the following statement welcoming Rep. Pete Stauber (R-Minn.) to the House Natural Resources Committee. “I am excited to welcome Congressman Stauber to the Natural Resources Committee. Our prior work together has shown me Pete understands the importance of public access to public lands and active stewardship of our natural resources to expand economic opportunities for more Americans. He will be a valuable addition to the Committee in these efforts and I look forward to working with him in the months ahead.” -Ranking Member Rob Bishop (R-Utah) “From the Iron Range, to the Whitefish chain, and over to Lake Mille Lacs and the St. Croix, our home is a natural resources-based economy. Therefore, I am honored to be named to the Natural Resources Committee, which oversees issues directly impacting jobs, the economy, and our way of life in Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District. My first term in Congress has enabled me to fight for my district’s economic drivers – including the responsible development of our God-given resources, sound forest management, and the proper supervision of local wildlife. Misguided attacks on our key economic drivers are at an all-time high, and this committee appointment will enable a direct role in the legislative process surrounding these issues for myself and my constituents. I am grateful for this valuable opportunity, and I look forward to continuing this important work.” -Rep. Pete Stauber (R-Minn.) |
