Today, House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Republican Rob Bishop (R-Utah) sent a letter to Chair Raúl Grijalva outlining concerns over the Majority’s failure to address issues within the Committee’s jurisdiction and refusal to consider economic impacts of proposed legislation. Ranking Republican Bishop also urged the Democrats to return to the transparent practice of providing public hearing memoranda in compliance with Committee rules. “We need to make efficient use of the Committee’s limited time and resources by holding hearings within our jurisdiction, inviting witnesses relevant to our subject matter, and operating with transparency… Such transparency will no doubt lead to better testimony from the witnesses, participation by the Members, and understanding by the press and American people.” Link to the letter can be found HERE. |
