House Passes “Public Access & Lands Improvement Act” in Bipartisan Vote

Today, the House of Representatives approved H.R. 2954, The Public Access and Lands Improvement Act with a vote of 220-194. This bipartisan package of bills would protect and promote access to lands; improve opportunities by removing red tape that stands in the way of responsible, local economic development and jobs; and encourage transparent, community-centered land management. Also, this legislation would advance important local projects that will create jobs and grow America’s economy.
“This small package of bills is reasonable, responsible, and reflects the will of local communities and their elected leaders. It will protect public access to public lands and implement common sense reforms to advance important local projects that will have a direct impact on jobs and economic growth in communities throughout the country,” said Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04). The Public Access and Lands Improvement Act includes the following Natural Resources Committee bills:
