This bipartisan legislation would reform the leasing process for onshore oil and natural gas production on federal land, reform the process for energy permitting, ensure funds are available for wind and solar permitting, and set clear rules for the development of U.S. oil shale resources.

This amendment imposes additional federal regulations on Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah that duplicate efforts already being taken by these states to protect groundwater as it relates to oil shale leasing.

Huffman Amendment 003 (to ANS) – Unnecessary and Duplicative Regulations (Failed 14-27. View Call Vote)
This amendment would slow down onshore energy development by adding needless and duplicative Federal regulations.
