This bill would authorize a land exchange involving National Forest System land in the Superior National Forest and certain other National Forest System land in the State of Minnesota that have limited recreational and conservation resources and lands owned by the State of Minnesota in trust for the public school system that have important recreational, scenic, and conservation resources.

Bishop Amendment #1 – Extend Completion Deadline (Agreed to by Voice Vote.)
This amendment would make technical changes to the bill and extend the deadline for completion of the exchange from one year to eighteen months.

Grijalva Amendment #2 – Alter Authorization for Land Exchange (Failed 19-25. View Roll Call Vote)
This amendment would give the Secretary of the Interior the option of completing the land exchange under this legislation instead of requiring that the exchange be implemented. Also seeks to address changes to spending under current law.
