Waco Mammoth National Monument Establishment Act of 2011 (H.R. 1545)

November 17, 2011 Full Committee Markup

Reporting H.R. 1545 Out of Committee (Agreed to by Unanimous Consent.)
This bill establishes the Waco Mammoth National Monument in Texas as a unit of the National Park System and requires the Secretary of the Interior, in consultation with Baylor University and the city of Waco, to complete a general management plan for the Monument. This designation is unique because it will be locally driven and operated without federal funds.

Grijalva Amendment #040 – Adds Federal Funding (Failed 15-28. View Roll Call Vote)
This amendment would substitute the base bill with language that does not protect property rights and calls for federal funding.
