This bill would allows for the issuance of state and tribal permits to lethally remove increasing predatory, non-ESA listed sea lions that consume thousands of endangered salmon and other fish species in the Columbia River and their tributaries.

Bordallo Amendment #002 – Adds Findings to the Bill (Not Agreed to by Voice Vote.)
This amendment would add findings that it received testimony that 1.4 percent of salmon were consumed by sea lions in 2011 and that other impacts to salmon (including habitat, hatcheries, harvest and hydroelectric development) remain largely unaddressed.

Bordallo Amendment #003 – Removes Bill Language (Not Agreed to by Voice Vote.)
This amendment would remove language in the bill that would have authorized the Secretary of Commerce to expedite issuance of permits to states and tribe to lethally remove predatory sea lions in the Columbia River.

Bordallo Amendment #010 – Adds Additional Requirement to Existing Law (Failed 17-26. View Roll Call Vote)
This amendment would add language to require the Secretary to make a separate determination in addition to existing federal and state requirements that permittees would conduct lethal removal in a humane manner.
