House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement after House Republicans unveiled their Plan for America’s Job Creators—a blueprint for pro-growth American job creation.

“Job creation is one of the highest priorities of the American people and House Republicans are following-up on our Pledge to America by putting forward an agenda to achieve real economic growth and put people back to work. Expanding production of all types of American energy must be an essential component of any jobs plan. America is blessed with vast energy resources that can simultaneously help meet our nation’s energy needs and create good-paying jobs for millions of Americans. The policies of the Obama Administration are not only blocking access to these resources, but increasing energy costs and shipping American jobs overseas. Republicans understand that American energy jobs are good paying, long-term employment that will help our country lessen our dependence on foreign energy and reduce America’s debt burden. Along with long-term job creation, American families and small businesses are dependent on low energy costs to keep the lights on and food on the table. As part of the American Energy Initiative, House Republicans have already passed three bipartisan bills that will expand offshore energy production and create a combined 1.2 million jobs. The Natural Resources Committee will be working on an array of additional bills to spur job growth and produce more, homegrown American energy.”
