H. Con. Res. 21 (Vitter), Commemorating the Bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase.

H. Res. 30 (Cunningham), Concerning the San Diego long-range sportfishing fleet and rights to fish the waters near the Revillagigedo Islands of Mexico.

H.R. 74 (Gibbons), To direct the Secretary of Agriculture to convey certain land in the lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, Nevada, to the Secretary of the Interior, in trust for the Washoe Indian Tribe of Nevada and California.

  • Ordered favorably reported to the House, without amendment, by unanimous consent.

H.R. 272 (Gibbons), To direct the Secretary of Agriculture to convey certain land to Lander County, Nevada, and the Secretary of the Interior to convey certain land to Eureka County, Nevada, for continued use as cemeteries.

  • By unanimous consent, the Subcommittee on National Parks, Recreation and Public Lands and the Subcommittee on Forests and Forest Health was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 272.

The following amendments was offered:

  • An Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute offered by Mr. Gibbons which: 1) modifies the reversionary clause, 2) clarifies timing on transfer of BLM lands, and 3) ensures that mineral estate is conveyed with the land. Was AGREED TO by unanimous consent.
  • Ordered favorably reported to the House, as amended, by unanimous consent.
H.R. 901 (Ose), To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to construct a bridge on Federal land west of and adjacent to Folsom Dam in California, and for other purposes.

The following amendments was offered:

  • An Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute offered by Mr. Calvert: allows Secretary of Interior to coordinate design and construction of bridge with Secretaries of Transportation and Homeland Security Departments; requires the City of Folsom to pay a 20% cost share on four lane bridge if the City requests such a bridge prior to construction, and the City does not request a 4 lane bridge, the Secretary of Interior will coordinate construction of a two lane bridge at full federal expense; these funding mechanisms, the amendment reduces the authorization to $50 million. Was AGREED TO by Voice Vote
  • Ordered reported to the House, as amended, by a recorded vote of 22 Yeas, and 20 Nays

H.R. 1113 (Kingston), To authorize an exchange of land at Fort Frederica National Monument, and for other purposes.

H.R. 1209 (Watson), To extend the authority for the construction of a memorial to Martin Luther King, Jr., in the District of Columbia, and for other purposes.

H.R. 1284 (Napolitano), To amend the Reclamation Projects Authorization and Adjustment Act of 1992 to increase the Federal share of the costs of the San Gabriel Basin demonstration project.

H.R. 1945 (Mike Thompson), To authorize the Secretary of Commerce to provide financial assistance to the States of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho for salmon habitat restoration projects in coastal waters and upland drainages, and for other purposes, "Pacific Salmon Recovery Act".

The following amendments were offered:

  • An Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute offered by Mr. Gilchrest to:reduces authorized appropriations to $200 million each fiscal year; add a review process by the Secretary; strikes the section requiring state conservation plans and requires memoranda of agreement; strike the section requiring the purchase of American-made equipment and products; and strike the section requiring a report on timber practices in Canada. AGREED TO by Voice Vote
  • An amendment was offered and withdrawn by Mr. Inslee: the amendment would allow existing management plans to substitute for memoranda of Agreements called for in Gilchrest ANS.
