National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands Subcommittee | Legislative Hearing

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. EST, the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands (NPFPL) will hold a virtual, fully remote legislative hearing on the following bills:

  • H.R. 268 (Rep. Filemon Vela), To provide for the boundary of the Palo Alto Battlefield National Historic Park to be adjusted, to authorize the donation of land to the United States for addition to that historic park, and for other purposes.
  • H.R. 980 (Rep. Peter DeFazio), To withdraw certain land located in Curry County and Josephine County, Oregon, from all forms of entry, appropriation, or disposal under the public land laws, location, entry, and patent under the mining laws, and operation under the mineral leasing and geothermal leasing laws, and for other purposes. Southwestern Oregon Watershed and Salmon Protection Act of 2021.
  • H.R. 1469 (Rep. Chellie Pingree), To amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate certain river segments within the York watershed in the State of Maine as components of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes. York River Wild and Scenic River Act of 2021.
  • H.R. 2512 (Rep. Ron Estes), To amend the National Trails System Act to designate the Chisholm National Historic Trail and the Western National Historic Trail, and for other purposes. Chisholm National Historic Trail and Western National Historic Trail Designation Act.
  • H.R. 2551 (Rep. John Curtis), To designate and adjust certain lands in the State of Utah as components of the National Wilderness Preservation System, and for other purposes. Bonneville Shoreline Trail Advancement Act.
  • H.R. 3600 (Rep. Darin LaHood), To amend the National Trails System Act to designate the Route 66 National Historic Trail, and for other purposes. Route 66 National Historic Trail Designation Act.
  • H.R. 4358 (Rep. Vern Buchanan), To amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate segments of the Little Manatee River as a component of the Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes. Little Manatee Wild and Scenic River Act.
  • H.R. 4404 (Rep. Darren Soto), To amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate segments of the Kissimmee River in the State of Florida as a component of the Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes. Kissimmee River Wild and Scenic River Act.
  • H.R. 4494 (Rep. David Trone), To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to acquire land in Frederick County, Maryland, for the Historic Preservation Training Center of the National Park Service, and for other purposes. Frederick Jobs and Historic Preservation Training Center Land Acquisition Act.
  • H.R. 5118 (Rep. Joe Neguse), To direct the Secretary of Agriculture to prioritize the completion of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, and for other purposes. Continental Divide Trail Completion Act.
