H.R.359, to clarify the intent of Congress in Public Law 93-632 to require the Secretary of Agriculture to continue to provide for the maintenance and operation of 18 concrete dams and weirs that were located in the Emigrant Wilderness at the time the wilderness area was designated in that Public Law. Ordered reported to Full Committee by voice vote. H.R.898, designating certain land in the San Isabel National Forest in the State of Colorado as the "Spanish Peaks Wilderness". H.R.1523, to establish mandatory procedures to be followed by the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management in advance of the permanent closure of any forest road so as to ensure local public participation in the decisionmaking process. Ordered reported to Full Committee by vote of 8-5. H.R.1524, to authorize the continued use on public lands of the expedited processes successfully used for windstorm damaged national forests and grasslands in Texas.
