BACKGROUND:

This hearing will focus on two separate policies by the Administration dealing with onshore and offshore oil and gas issues. For onshore the hearing will focus on new rules coming from the Administration to deal with the process of hydraulic fracturing in the development of domestic resources. On offshore, the hearing will focus on the recently announced 5 year plan put forward by the Administration. The Committee has questions about the direction the Obama Administration is taking our nation’s energy policy and its effect on job creation, our economy and national security. The hearing will feature testimony from Department of the Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.
