Background:

This hearing will focus on the well-paying job opportunities that await our nation’s veterans in the American energy renaissance. Unemployment in America has been too high for far too long - especially those who have served our country in the years since the attacks on September 11th, 2001. With the military expecting to separate over one million service members over the next several years, there is no doubt that America’s booming energy sector holds great promise for many of America’s veterans looking to transition into the private sector and achieve well-paying jobs.
