Dear Inspector General Elkins: 

On August 17, 2015, your office, the Environmental Protection Agency's ("EPA") Office of Inspector General ("OIG"), sent a memorandum to EPA Region 8 Administrator Shaun McGrath and Assistant Administrator for the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response Mathy Stanislaus informing them of the OIG's intent to conduct a review of the Gold King Mine Release.
