Chairman Hastings’ Statement on Departure of Rep. Fleischmann, Addition of Rep. Amodei to Natural Resources Committee

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement announcing the departure of Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) and the addition of Mark Amodei (NV-02) to the Natural Resources Committee:

“Chuck brought the perspective of East Tennessee to the Committee and was a great asset this Congress as he worked to create American jobs and get our economy working again through the responsible development of America’s natural resources. I’m sure Chuck will continue that same commitment and dedication in his roles with the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well as the Science, Space and Technology Committee.

“I’m pleased that the newest member of the Republican majority—Rep. Mark Amodei—will be joining the Natural Resources Committee. Mark’s sprawling Nevada congressional district is comprised of large portions of public lands and his knowledge of western land issues is a welcome addition to the Committee. Committee Republicans welcome Mark and are looking forward to working with him to create jobs and keep America’s public lands and waterways open and accessible for all forms of use.”
