Reporting H.R. 481 out of Committee: Favorably reported to the House of Representatives, as amended, by voice vote.

Rep. Bishop of Utah Amendment to H.R. 481 – Prohibiting “Buffer Zones” (View Roll Call Vote)
The North Country National Scenic Trail Route Adjustment Act would authorize a re-route of the North Country National Scenic Trail to include existing hiking trails along Lake Superior’s north shore and in Superior National Forest and Chippewa National Forest. This amendment would protect the rights of private property landowners adjacent to the trail by prohibiting the National Park Service from creating “buffer zones” outside of the National Park boundaries that would interfere with how private property owners use their lands.
