A Vote of “Historic Proportions?” We Agree.
Today, President Obama said:
“Right now, the House of Representatives is moving towards a vote of historic proportions….”
We agree.
When Speaker Pelosi holds a vote tomorrow on the National Energy Tax bill (H.R. 2454) – it will be a vote of historic proportions.
Unfortunately, that’s because history will show that as America’s unemployment rate was rising, Democrats in Congress were voting for a cap and tax plan that will inflict even more economic pain upon struggling Americans.
Specifically, this bill is predicted to:
After months of increasing unemployment, now is the worst time possible for the Democrat Congress to pass a National Energy Tax.
The good news is that Republicans have proposed a better way forward that will grow our economy, create new high-paying jobs, protect our environment, and provide affordable energy.
The American Energy Act (H.R. 2846) is an all-of-the-above plan that will develop all types of American-made energy. It promotes renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar, hydropower, nuclear and biomass, while also producing more American-made oil and natural gas.
Instead of implementing a National Energy Tax, Democrat Leaders should hold a vote on the American Energy Act.
