Committee Markup Action:The Committee on Natural Resources met in open session on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, and reconvened on Thursday, September 22, 2016, to consider the following bills: H.R. 564 (Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler), To amend the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 to reduce predation on endangered Columbia River salmon and other nonlisted species, and for other purposes. “Endangered Salmon and Fisheries Predation Prevention Act” The Subcommittee on Water, Power and Oceans was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 564 by unanimous consent.
H.R. 564, as amended, was adopted and favorably reported to the House of Representatives by a roll call vote of 17 yeas and 13 nays. H.R. 2387 (Rep. Don Young), To amend the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act to provide for equitable allotment of land to Alaska Native veterans. “Alaska Native Veterans Land Allotment Equity Act” The Subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 2387 by unanimous consent.
H.R. 2387, as amended, was adopted and favorably reported to the House of Representatives by voice vote. H.R. 5780 (Rep. Rob Bishop), To provide greater conservation, recreation, economic development and local management of Federal lands in Utah, and for other purposes. “Utah Public Lands Initiative Act” The Subcommittee on Federal Lands and the Subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs were discharged from further consideration of H.R. 5780 by unanimous consent.
H.R. 5780, as amended, was adopted and favorably reported to the House of Representatives by a roll call vote of 21 yeas and 13 nays. H.R. 5984 (Rep. Ken Calvert), To authorize the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Mission Indians Water Rights Settlement, and for other purposes. “Pechanga Band of Luiseno Mission Indians Water Rights Settlement Act” H.R. 5984 was adopted and favorably reported to the House of Representatives by unanimous consent. S. 3028, (Sen. Maria Cantwell), To redesignate the Olympic Wilderness as the Daniel J. Evans Wilderness. “Daniel J. Evans Olympic National Park Wilderness Act” The Subcommittee on Federal Lands was discharged from further consideration of S. 3028 by unanimous consent.
