BACKGROUND:

The President's budget request for Fiscal Year 2013 for CEQ is $3.106 million, a decrease of $42,000 from the Fiscal Year 2012 enacted level. In addition, the budget request includes a request for 24 Full-Time Equivalents, the same level in place for FY 2012. At the hearing Members will have the opportunity to ask Council on Environmental Quality Chairwoman Nancy Sutley questions regarding funding for President Obama's National Ocean Policy, the National Environmental Policy Act and other Federal environmental policy initiatives and how these policies will affect jobs and the economy.
