  • H.R. 3388 (Forbes), To modify the boundary of Petersburg National Battlefield in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and for other purposes.  "Petersburg National Battlefield Boundary Modification Act"
  • H.R. 3603 (Marshall), To rename the Ocmulgee National Monument.
  • H.R. 3644 (Capps), To direct the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to establish education and watershed programs which advance environmental literacy, including preparedness and adaptability for the likely impacts of climate change in coastal watershed regions.  "Bay-Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) Regional Program and National Environmental Literacy Grant Program Act"
  • H.R. 3759 (DeFazio), To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to grant economy-related contract extensions of a certain timber contracts between the Secretary of the Interior and timber purchasers, and for other purposes.  "BLM Contract Extension Act"
  • H.R. 3804 (Tonko), To make technical corrections to various Acts affecting the National Park Service, to extend, amend, or establish certain National Park Service authorities, and for other purposes.  "National Park Service Authorities and Corrections Act of 2009"
  • H.R. 3940 (Bordallo), To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to extend grants and other assistance to facilitate a political status public education program for the people of Guam.  

COMMITTEE ACTION:

The Committee on Natural Resources met in an open markup session on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, and considered the following bills:

H.R. 3644 (Capps), To direct the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to establish education and watershed programs which advance environmental literacy, including preparedness and adaptability for the likely impacts of climate change in coastal watershed regions.  "Bay-Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) Regional Program and National Environmental Literacy Grant Program Act"

The Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Oceans and Wildlife was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 3644.

An amendment in the nature of a substitute was offered by Mrs. Capps.

An amendment to the amendment in the nature of a substitute offered by Mr. Cassidy #2 was WITHDRAWN.

An amendment to the amendment in the nature of a substitute offered by Mr. Cassidy #1 was NOT AGREED TO by a roll call vote of 11 yeas and 16 nays.

The amendment in the nature of a substitute was AGREED TO by voice vote.
