BACKGROUND:

The hearing will also examine the Obama Administration’s proposed rewrite of an existing coal mining rule. According to news reports, the Administration ended a contract with the firm that issued a report saying the proposed rule would cost 7,000 jobs and reduce coal production in 22 states. The Natural Resources Committee is actively investigating this matter.
