Transparency In Action: 1334 Hearing Room Camera Installation Update
Posted by Neal Kirby on January 09, 2012
In the beginning of the 112th Congress, Chairman Doc Hastings announced plans to install video cameras in the Committee’s secondary hearing room, 1334 Longworth House Office Building. This effort builds on the new House Majority’s Pledge to America “to ensure transparency and accountability in Congress” and on the new rules adopted at the beginning of the 112th Congress.

After many months of planning, installation of permanent cameras for the Committee's 1334 Hearing Room began on November 30th. “This is the culmination of an effort undertaken at the outset of this Congress to ensure that everyone of our Committee and Subcommittee hearings is broadcast live on the Internet and permanently available for viewing on the Committee's website,” wrote Chairman Hastings in a recent letter to Committee Members.
